Beach Day

This weekend felt like a little taste of summer. With weather in the 90’s and clear skies, a beach day was a must. One of my closest friends and I spent our Saturday in Malibu. It was absolutely beautiful! We ate at Malibu Farm, a new favorite of mine, located at the end of the Malibu Pier. I ordered the vegan chopped salad which consists of kale romaine, butternut squash, beets, avocado, garbonzo beans, and I added some grilled chicken. All of there food looks delicious and the view is lovely! I highly recommend it. While it was somewhat pricy, I personally believe it was very well worth it. After lunch we walked down to the beach, spent some time under the pier, and laid in the sun. I must say it was a Saturday well spent.

What I Wore … Over my bathing suit I wore a pair of shorts I bought a little while back from Zara. They’re comfortable, flowy, and have subtle ruffled detailing on the sides. With this I wore a striped tank by T by Alexander Wang, a pair of Avec Moderation sandals that I bought on sale from Calypso St. Barthes, my Balenciaga Mini City Bag, Ray-Bans, and per usual, an EmiJay skinny hair tie was either around my wrist or in my hair.

What’s In My Beach Bag … Skin care is a priority of mine and protecting your skin is an important part of skin care. I can be picky when it comes to what I’m putting on my face – this including sunscreen. However, I have found some sunscreen’s that I like that are non-comedogenic. I was introduced to the Eminence Tropical Vanilla Day Cream SPF 32. Not only does it smell amazing, but it also doesn’t clog pores. Considering my skin is very sensitive, sometimes sunscreens may irritate my skin. If you have sensitive skin like I do, I swear by Dermalogica’s “Ultra Calming” line of products for sensitivity and redness. They have a super sensitive sunscreen SPF 30 that I also like to use on my face. I’ve always liked refreshing facial mists and sprays. While I usually use Mario Bodescu’s Facial Spray with Aloe, Herb, and Rose Water, I recently stumbled upon Epicuren’s Refresh Aloe Cucumber Mist, also a very nice alternative. Hydrating your skin, this mist leaves you feeling refreshed – perfect for a day at the beach!
